Interestingly, on the heels of the news about Google leaving China and then the news about Google not leaving China, now there's an announcement that Sergey Brin and Larry Page want to get rid of some GOOG shares so they will no longer have absolute power in the company. -
Google wants to stay in China
It's interesting to see that idealists say something yet business "wins". While earlier newsreports indicated that Google might pull out of China because of alleged hacking attempts on it's property sponsored by the Chinese government Eric Schmidt says differently. -
Don’t be evil
A friend of mine recently posted a link to an article where Google takes a stand against hacking attacks on it's property. The Chinese government was implied and my friend wondered if this was clever marketing or genuine. Google Inc. co-founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page have always said they put their principles before profit, even to the point of using their control of the company to take a stand. It looks like the time that they need to put their money where their mouth is is getting closer.
