Google wants to stay in China

It’s interesting to see that idealists say something yet business “wins”. While earlier newsreports indicated that Google might pull out of China  because of alleged hacking attempts on it’s property sponsored by the Chinese government Eric Schmidt says differently, even though my earlier poll in Don’t be evil indicated strong support for Google’s idealistic decision.

Rumor had it

That Google’s earlier announcement that it might leave China altogether was a ‘hard decision’ and I could only imagine — Sergey — Brin and — Larry — Page arguing their ‘Don’t be evil’ stance in the boardroom, backed by their majority stock holder vote. Sympathy for them was on my side. But the question a friend of mine asked me that instigated the ‘Don’t be evil’ poll/article, “Clever marketing or idealism?” now seems to come to a closure as Schmidt says “Google continues to censor search results but in a “reasonably short time from now” it would stop.”. Aha! A ‘reasonably short time from now’ ? What does that mean? I smell a fish but I’ll let you decide instead:

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.
