Hosting company Akamai has published its ‘the state of the internet’ report over the third quarter of 2009. According to the report, the Netherlands remains on #4 unchanged from previous reports.
The internet penetration in the Netherlands is up to 0.4 (internet connections per capita) or 40%. Only Norway (0.49), Sweden (0.42) and Finland (0.41) have a higher internet penetration than the Netherlands. The Netherlands shares the 4th place with the United States.
The worldwide internet penetration is 0.05, 99 countries have an internet penetration below 0.01.
On the ranking list of average internet speed, the Netherlands ranks #7 with an average internet speed of 5.1Mbps. South Korea leads the average internet speed list with 14.6Mbps.
